My name is Cynthis Galloway and I am a registered psychotherapist with a master’s degree in counselling psychology and a Certificate in Couple and Family Therapy Studies, along with advanced post-graduate training in couple and sex therapy. I have been certified with the Association of Sex Therapy in Ontario and registered with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy as a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist.
My approach is grounded in the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT) — an integrative model that draws from neuroscience, attachment theory, and arousal regulation to help partners feel safe, connected, and understood.
My work supports couples navigating oncosexual concerns, low desire, orgasm or erection difficulties, sexual pain, and the effects of sexual trauma. My goal is to help people feel more comfortable in their bodies and more open to the full range of sexual and emotional experience — so that sexuality becomes a natural, nourishing part of life and relationship, deepening intimacy, trust, and connection.
Yoga and Mind-Body Practices:
Alongside my clinical work, I’m a registered yoga teacher (RYT-500) with over 1000 hours of advanced training, including Foundations in Yoga Therapy from Inner Peace Yoga Therapy School. In my yoga teaching, I draw from the same principles that guide my psychotherapy work — presence, compassion, and curiosity. My classes focus on cultivating awareness, restoring balance, and supporting healing through nervous system regulation and the integration of body, mind and spirit.

Mary's healing journey began at 25 with self-discovery through Yoga, Meditation, and Reiki. This led her to a comprehensive, three-year Transpersonal Therapy program, which she completed at age 29. This intensive training immersed her in both Eastern and Western healing traditions, specifically equipping her to support individuals navigating Spiritual Emergence through therapeutic approaches such as Psychodrama, Jungian Psychology, Somatic Experiencing, Bioenergetics, Dreamwork, Holotropic Breathwork, Meditation, and Shamanic Healing Traditions.
Following her Transpersonal training, Mary became a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher. Her dedication to offering somatic healing practices is further supported by certifications in Thai Yoga Massage and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. Recognizing the intricate connection between physical well-being and overall health, she also trained as a Medical Exercise Specialist, enabling her to design customized physical rehabilitation practices for injuries, surgeries, and various health conditions. Yoga
-
Yoga has been practiced around the world for more than two thousand years, but it’s only been studied in modern medicine since the late 1990s and exponentially since 20081. Practicing yoga addresses the health of your mind, body, and spirit through a combination of mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises, and physical movement1. There are many schools of yoga practice, varying widely in both their level of intensity and areas of focus.
The health benefits of yoga are as varied as its schools of practice. It can improve blood sugar control in diabetics more effectively than walking. It can reduce insomnia and improve symptoms of anxiety and depression in cancer patients within a year of diagnosis4. It can reduce the side effects of cancer treatment independent of medication, allow for earlier removal of surgical stitches and drains, and even shorten hospitalization5.
In North America we tend to think of yoga as an activity for young, trim women in Lululemon. Not true! Some of the greatest athletes in the history of their sport swear by the benefits of yoga, including LeBron James, Tom Brady, and Novak Djokovic. And if you aren’t an athlete, no problem. Even seniors and people with advanced mobility problems can reap the benefits of yoga, with a chair as the only equipment you need. Come see how yoga can become an integral part of your wellness plan…namaste!

Dance
-
We don’t usually think of dance as exercise, but dancing is one of the best things you can do for your health and sense of well-being. It doesn’t matter if it’s ballroom dancing with your loved one, line dancing in a crowded room, a fast-paced Zumba class, or even belly dancing. In studies of people with cancer, heart failure, Parkinson’s disease, and falls, dancing was shown to be as effective as other forms of exercise for cardiovascular health. It leads to improvements in flexibility, endurance, balance, and cognition, and might even be better for weight loss. As good as dance can be for your body, it’s a terrific activity for your mind and your relationships. It promotes the release of endorphins, reduces fatigue, and improves your connection with and appreciation of your own body. For people going through active cancer treatment, dance-based therapy can help counter their anticipated stress and pain. And if you’re dancing with a group, you’ll reap the mental health benefits – like trust, interpersonal touch, and laughing – that go hand-in-hand with social interactions. Best of all, dance is easy to learn because you’ve done it before! Almost all of us learn to dance at a very young age, either in school or as part of a cultural tradition. No special equipment or training needed…just move your body and enjoy!
