Eir Centre Fitness Program

Your journey begins with a comprehensive physical assessment to understand your current abilities, identify limitations, and set meaningful goals. From there, you’ll be guided through a progressive strength and conditioning program tailored to your unique needs—whether you’re recovering from treatment, returning to activity, or simply looking to feel stronger and more capable.

With expert supervision, small group support, and a focus on safe, functional movement, this program empowers you to rebuild at your own pace while staying motivated and connected.

Led by experienced clinicians Matt Richardson & Jamie Wilson, and delivered in partnership with Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic, this program blends clinical expertise with supportive, personalized care.

Yoga

Practicing yoga addresses the health of your mind, body, and spirit through a combination of mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises, and physical movement. There are many schools of yoga practice, varying widely in both their level of intensity and areas of focus.

The health benefits of yoga are as varied as its schools of practice. It can improve blood sugar control in diabetics more effectively than walking. It can reduce insomnia and improve symptoms of anxiety and depression in cancer patients within a year of diagnosis. It can reduce the side effects of cancer treatment independent of medication, allow for earlier removal of surgical stitches and drains, and even shorten hospitalization.

Eir Centre offers a variety of structured and drop-in yoga programs for people of all fitness levels and at all stages in their cancer journey. We also have online yoga classes for those unable to attend Eir Centre in person.
